Both Rag and Carnage have it! We almost have a full team!

Carnage was asking how I got my 27 kills. Here's how I did it:

"It was Arcade. We were on Defense. It was all about Turret placement and timing the Ultimate to power up the turret at the optimal time.

We most definitely won! I planted my turret right outside of their starting point, right in a very defend-able corner; took to my shot-gun to defend it, earned both armor for my team and quick ultimate cool-down and TOTALLY dominated! I was getting 5-6 eliminations at a time.

When they finally broke out and started moving, I switched to Reinhardt to go on the offensive… they really didn’t stand a chance!"  Grinning

Travo!!

That opposing team was NUTS!! Don't get discouraged. I've been playing since Day One and I couldn't even get near them! They must have been a group because they stuck together, guarded their objectives and coordinated their attacks! As good as I was this morning, I was nothing compared to them!!

There's a few things to consider before even starting a game. First and foremost is: What kind of character do you usually excel with in a game like this? Are you a healer? Are you a bullet-sponge, front-line Tank? Are you quick and nimble? Would you rather be a sniper? You gotta find the character you like the most to get good with him or her. Experience a few good matches... Once you get a handle on what the game is all about, you can then start to experiment with different types.

You also have to consider what side you're on. I wouldn't choose a defensive character like Tobjorn when your team is on the attack, for example.

Definitely spend some time in the Tutorial area too, or play with AI... All the characters are so nuanced, if you try to pick one you're not familiar with when you're playing against a good team, you're not going to get anywhere...

Even saying all this, I still S-U-C-K-E-D in those last two games. That other team was just way too good!!

Once you hit Level 25 you can play in competitive, ranked matches and you can tell there are teams approaching that level of skill already!!  GASP

I'm definitely not feeling this game at the moment.  I had no clue about what's going on and need way more time with the tutorial.  Right now, I'm just running to the spot, getting my ass handed to me, spawn, rinse, repeat.

I'm kind of an offensive guy.  I probably need something like a machine gun....and mines, tons of mines. Nyaa

Don't judge the game by that team. They were unusually good! Try out different characters in the tutorial mode. If you've ever liked any shooters, there'll be someone in there that'll click.

You can play vs the AI. You can practice with other characters and find your picks. It's what I'm doing. Soldier 76 sounds like a good one for you to try based on what you said. Doesn't have mines, but has some good utilities.

And will you people please add me? Itd be nice to play with some I sort of know.

If you like big guns, maybe you should try Bastion.

Good idea and I will add you. I just keep forgetting to do so when the PS4 is actually on...

TRAVO!!

Definitely give Bastion a try. I did; not only is he easy to use, he's VERY powerful! When he is in Recon mode, he has a sub-machine gun which is right up your alley --but-- he can also transform into a stationary Turret mode too! His Ultimate transforms him into a TANK with mobility, armor and a BIG-ASS GUN!! He can also HEAL himself!!

Definitely, definitely, definitely try playing with Bots too!! It's a low stress game mode where you work with a team and take on AI enemies. There's 3 difficulty modes you can choose from in there, so start off easy and work your way up!

I assume you know this --but-- while choosing a Hero you can press a button to see all of their skills and the buttons they are assigned to --but-- you can press Left (I think) on the directional pad, even while you are in a match to bring up that same screen, just in case you need a reminder of all the things your Hero can do!

Don't get discouraged!!

I had the day off, but now I have to finish the week. Sad C'mon, summer!  I'll definitely give him a go later.

Tried a little bit more today and it didn't seem quite as chaotic.  I tried Lucio and felt sort of comfortable.  There's still a ways to go before the game begins to feel right.  I can't seem to find a strategy.

I was spectating and you were doing AWESOME!!

Didn't you have a 5 kill streak going there?

Have you played any AI bot matches? They are a great way to try characters without as much chaos!

I'm telling you, that first match you and I joined, that team was VERY good... Don't let it jade your opinion of the game. You ARE getting better!!  Grinning
